Getting started with Personal training at Kinetic Evolution is a simple three-step process,
Step 1. Book a Free Consultation
We invite you into our facility for a complementary 60-minute consultation. Performing an in-person meeting allows both client and personal trainer the opportunity to evaluate if the relationship is a good fit.
Our first meeting is focused on information gathering, with no exercise required during the initial consultation. Our objective is to thoroughly understand your story, current situation, and future goals, then to put forth our professional recommendation as to the best possible solution. During this process we consider how all of our resources (training, massage, chiropractic care, nutrition) could assist you in achieving your goals. We take into account all potential variables (schedule & finances) and roadblocks (lack of equipment).
Step 2. Baseline Fitness Test & Therapy Assessment
Once you make the decision to start your training journey with Kinetic Evolution our first course of action is a baseline test. If acute injury or chronic pain are a major concern, then we start with a therapeutic assessment to screen for movement asymmetry or dysfunction. At this stage, first phase corrective exercise takes priority to build a stable foundation prior to initiating a vigorous training program.
If you are relatively injury free, then we perform a customized fitness test based on your training experience and goals. Acquiring baseline testing numbers gives necessary feedback to help to create the comprehensive training program and provide data to compare to for future testing sessions.
Step 3. Customized Program & Professional Coaching
After completing baseline testing, a training program is developed for you. The program encompasses sessions performed both at Kinetic Evolution and at your home or secondary gym facility. Frequency of visitation is dependent on all factors discussed in Step 1, but the right amount of in-person coaching is essential to provide accountability, deliver instruction and feedback, and enhance motivation.
Our long-term goal at Kinetic Evolution is to educate you to a level of competence where you do not need weekly training sessions, only monthly check-ups. Reaching a high level of independence will build your confidence that you will not only reach fitness goals but maintain them on a long-term basis.
Our Certifications & Qualifications
At Kinetic Evolution, our training decisions and nutritional advice are evidence-based, and we use a body of literature as support. We do not promote, and are not interested, in fads or gimmicks.
Our coaches have access to constant mentorship, business coaching, and individualized development to promote mastery of their craft.
While holding a high level of qualification/certification is certainly important, it does not always speak to coaching expertise or training skillset. An additional step in researching the right fit would be to read several coach testimonials and/or set up a phone conversation with 1-2 client references. Having an in-depth Q&A with previous clients can further enlighten if the potential training relationship is a good one.

Train in Our Kelowna Gym-Clinic Facility
Personal Training sessions take place at Kinetic Evolution, our Kelowna clinic-gym hybrid facility. We are fully equipped to provide free-weight strength programs for injury rehab and body composition management, along with endurance and circuit programs for cardiovascular fitness.
As part of your personal training experience we create a homework programs for the client to practice at a secondary gym facility or in the comfort of their own home. Home programs are customized to whatever pre-existing gym equipment the client currently owns. Recommendations can be made to help further develop home gyms based on client goals.
